Sushil Koirala foundation established
KATHMANDU - The Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation has been established in the memory of late former Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala with the objective of promoting and consolidating democracy and democratic process.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is the patron of the foundation while General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala chairs it. Likewise, party central members Nabindra Raj Joshi, Chitra Lekha Yadav, NP Saud, chairperson of state affairs committee Dil Bahadur Gharti and Nepali Ambassador to India Dip Kumar Upadhyaya are members of the foundation.
The foundation has come into being in guidance of the statement by BP Koirala that peace, stability, prosperity and equitably balanced society is possible only within boundaries of democracy. The foundation shall give priority to promoting national solidarity, goodwill and consensus, Dr. Koirala said.
