Nepal International Beer Festival 2017
The Nepal Beer Festival, the first of its kind in Nepal and the first gathering of the world’s best craft beer, aims to raise awareness of craft beer culture in Nepal. The event is supported by Nepal Tourism Board and the US Embassy.
The festival will offer approximately 2,000 guests the opportunity to sample and learn about more than 50 beers from over 30 local and international breweries and vendors. The event will feature beers from over a dozen breweries operating in 6 countries, including the award-winning craft breweries from the United States, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam. Besides the international breweries, the event will also showcase award-winning beers from Belgium and Germany. In addition to featuring many of renowned craft breweries from around the world, it will also host beer tasting sessions, Christmas Market, food festival, music programs to highlight the event theme as well as enliven the atmosphere for the visitors.
Beer festivals are popular throughout the world. We, as organizer of the event, come from various backgrounds but we all have one thing in common: love for beer. As home-brewers, beer traders and beer enthusiasts we thought that it was the time that Nepal had its own beer festival. We would like to introduce as many varieties of beers as possible to the Nepali beer lovers. Our aim is to raise awareness of beer culture in Nepal through a fun and festive event in the best location possible.
All proceeds go to two charities: Active Hearts Himalaya and Baby Life Home.
About the Charity: Baby Life Home
Baby Life Home (http://babylifehome.org/) is a local charity focused on providing shelter and education to HIV infected children who have been neglected by their families and the society. Since its establishment in 2009, Baby Life Home has established Saphaltala HIV Shikshya Sadan (Progressive HIV Education Home). It is Nepal's first school/orphanage to publicly support education for HIV-infected children without concealing their HIV status and guaranteeing their rights for education under caring environment.
About the Charity: Active Hearts Foundation
Active Hearts Foundation (https://www.facebook.com/activeheartsfoundation/) is a New Zealand based grassroots charity working in rural Nepal in health and education projects. They have been focused on the construction of community libraries and ever since the earthquake of 2015, they have accelerated their efforts and have since built three libraries, refitted a medical centre and completed a massive irrigation project that was destroyed during the earthquake.
Beer is too good to be confined to any season. Himalayan Beer Festival shall cross the seasonal barrier this December.
